Hello friends and Fangirls! As I’m sure you’ve noticed (or maybe you haven’t; no judgement either ay), things have been pretty quiet around here as of late. I have been thinking quite awhile on this, but I haven’t been feeling like writing for myself as much. I’ve been really enjoying writing for Sartorial Geek (you can check out my articles there, here), and I’m looking to do more guest spots this new year.
Wilder Girls by Rory Power
Of course this was a cover buy. This art is so dang good, I can’t handle it. But what’s under the cover is so much better, it’s mind blowing.
I Might Regret This by Abbi Jacobson
Have you ever read a book or watched a TV show at exactly the right time? Consumed some sort of media that was exactly what you needed in that moment? I Might Regret This by Abbi Jacobson was the perfect book for me the week before my 27th birthday.
Hogwarts House Outfit Swap
When Ashley and I decided to go to LeakyCon’s 10th anniversary, we also decided that we wanted to style each other for one of the days. We had seen tons of videos on Buzzfeed or Safiya Nygaard’s channels, so we tried it out. Let me tell you, Ashley was so much better at this than I was, but we’ll get into that in a bit. Since this was for Leaky, we went to our Hogwarts houses for inspiration.
The GayBCs by M.L. Webb
I was incredibly lucky to have this book sent to me from Quirk Books. They’re a publisher that I absolutely adore because they put out some really incredible content. This book is no exception.

What you Should be Watching on YouTube
Ok, I believe that everyone should be allowed to watch whatever the heck they want. But I wanted to share a couple of the channels I have been living for recently. These are all over the place, and some of them are not necessarily for all ages (I’ll be sure to let you know which those are). Here are some suggestions that I find hilarious, informative, or just a good time.
Journal 1004
These past two weeks have been a lot, and it isn’t ending.
Warrior of the Wild by Tricia Levenseller
I received this book as a part of my March Unplugged box and took way too long to read it! But now that I’ve read it, I want to recommend it to everyone who is willing to listen; this book is incredible.
Warrior of the Wild is about a young warrior named Rasmira, who is set to become an adult and the leader of her tribe. But when her trial is sabatogged, she is banished and sent to the Wild with an impossible task: killing a god.
While in the Wild, Rasmira meets a couple other folks who have been banished, and they all learn to work better and harder towards their impossible tasks. They become tolerant of each other; teaching and helping each other to get closer to their goals.
This book is incredible. I absolutely loved everything about it, and was screaming it’s praise before i was even halfway done. Warrior of the Wild is beautifully written, Stars a powerful female main character, and is just So Good.
I do have a bit of a complaint. As much as I adored all of this book, I really would have enjoyed having the ending fleshed out more. I understand the ending, but I feel like a little more time could have been put into it. That being said, i still loved every word and paragraph.
This book is just rad. There’s no way to explain it other than that; I love this book. It was easily one of my favorite reads of 2019, and I’m so grateful to Unplugged for it coming into my life!
Self Love Saturday
While I would love to say that I practice self love every day, it’s something I struggle with. But the absolutely incredible Amanda Swiger had an event la couple weeks back, titled Self Love Saturday, and I had the pleasure of attending!
